Papoutsas Rent a Car & Bike - Terms & Conditions


1) Age Requirements

Minimum age: 19 years with at least 1 year driving experience for: Small/Medium/Convertible Cars, SUVs, Scooters, Quads, Side-by-Side vehicles.
Premium vehicles: 23+ years.

All drivers must hold a valid driving licence for at least 1 year.

 

2) Scooter Categories and License Specifications

  • 50cc: Category AM
  • 125cc: Category A1 or A
  • 155cc: Category A2

3) Traffic Violations

Renters are responsible for any fines resulting from traffic law violations during the rental period.​

4) Payment Method & Security Deposit

A security deposit via credit card is required for all rentals, irrespective of the chosen method of payment. This deposit acts as a guarantee against any potential damage, loss, or additional charges and will be released upon the return of the vehicle in compliance with all rental terms and conditions.
 
The security deposit amount is determined according to the vehicle category and may be reduced if optional CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) or SCDW (Super Collision Damage Waiver) insurance is purchased, where applicable.
 
Security Deposits by Vehicle Category:

All Scooters / Quads 80cc / Quads 150cc / Quads 450cc
Security Deposit: €500

Quads 550cc & Buggies
Security Deposit: €700–€1,000, depending on the model

Mini Vans
Security Deposit: €1,000
With SCDW insurance: €500

Small / Compact / Medium Cars
Security Deposit: €500
With SCDW insurance: €200

SUV Cars / Automatic Cabrio Cars
Security Deposit: €1,000
With SCDW insurance: €300

Premium SUVS & Premium SUV Cabrio Cars
Security Deposit: €1,200
With SCDW insurance: €500

Note: The security deposit is held temporarily and will only be charged in the event of damage, loss, or violation of the rental agreement. Choosing optional SCDW insurance reduces your financial liability in case of an incident.
 

5) Insurance 

Included:

  • Third Party Insurance (TP)

Optional:

  • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
  • Super CDW (SCDW)
  • Tires & Glass Insurance (T&G) 

Standard insurance does not cover tires, glass, undercarriage, or wheels unless otherwise stated.

 

6) Extras

  • Additional driver: available with extra charge
  • Child seats: free, subject to availability

 

7) Rental Conditions  

  • Minimum rental: 1 day (24 hours)
  • Fuel: renter’s responsibility
  • VAT & taxes included (24%)
  • Vehicle models subject to availability (or similar provided)
  • Delivery/collection on request (extra charge may apply)
  • Ferry transport of vehicles: not allowed

 

8) Cancellation Policy

Cancellation terms depend on the selected payment option.

PAY NOW – Total Amount
Bookings paid in full are non-refundable. No refund will be issued in case of cancellation, modification, or no-show.

PAY NOW – Deposit (30%)
The 30% deposit is refundable only for cancellations made at least 15 days prior to the rental start date.
No refund will be issued for cancellations made 14 days or less before the rental start date.

All cancellation requests must be sent in writing.
